Phew they stink!

Time to unload all those nasty puffy fabric shapes.

Kooky says - We can't understand how or why these products have been pushed onto the poor unsuspecting card maker, extortionately priced, poorly made and pretty tacky looking to boot!

We purchased some puffy shapes with a view to selling them on our web site, when they arrived we were horrified! The quality of work was quite simply rubbish on top of which the price we would need to charge was ridiculous for what should have cost pennies actually cost pounds!

We looked long and hard at the puffy shapes idea, made some cards with them, scratched our heads and finally concluded that this is not a viable product to sell and certainly not viable to use with card making, they look fine on clothing but stuck on a card they're a fish out of water!

Lose those puffy shapes, when there are so many better quality products on offer why settle for tat! We don't know of any card making company that use these products on their cards, we certainly wouldn't chance them on our handmade cards.

Weeehey! Time to spend loads, Embellishments by Crafty Bitz.

Kooky says - The embellishment debate for us has always been about quality, yes there are lots of new ready to stick on embellishments coming out all the time, we have seen and tried almost all of them.

The biggest issue for us is 'will this product survive the postal system?' the crafty bits embellishments are very well made, offer value for money and yes we know they survive the postal system, we used Crafty bitz on our Mothers Day cards this year.

Get down the road - you old dog!

Copies of Jolee Stickers and similar bits that stick on.

Kooky says - These have so had their day! We were selling the top of the range Jolees three years ago, originally designed for scrapbooking they were new and exciting back then, it was pretty awesome when they first showed up, being the perfect quick fix and of fabulous quality.

Now however all the cheap versions of the same are crawling out of the woodwork, there will always be a demand for beginners to be able to buy these, however beginners don't stay beginners for very long and soon tire of all Jolee type products, looking elsewhere for more long term products to use on card making.

Jolee stickers have only ever been of use to the beginner as the cost is restrictive, real card makers would never be able to afford to use them and sell trade.

This excellent new punching system from Sizzix lets you punch anywhere, unlike normal punches where you are limited to the edge or border of your card, this new system opens up a whole new world of card design.
