Top tips for card making from our readers

Save paint

If you use paint in your card making an excellent way to avoid wasting
paint or to preserve a paint colour you wish to use again is to cover your
palette or paint pot with Clingfilm, this will keep the paint fresh for up
to two weeks, ideal if you want to take a break from painting.

Wall paper off cuts make excellent paper for all manner of card making
techniques, it can be used as backing paper, for making punched shapes, to
use in card toppers - the uses are endless and you often have some lying
around the house.

Ask family and friends for their scraps and you could soon have many styles to get creative with!

Get rid of finger marks

Before using shiny black card with Versamark and Perfect Pearls (or similar) wipe it over with an antistatic duster, such as Pledge. It cleans all specks of dust and finger marks in an instant.

Avoid the curl.......

When using the heat tool on your cards avoid ending up with a curly card by heating both sides, heating the reverse and the front of the card straightens up any curls you may have.
