Heat embossing using your computer and Ink Jet Printer.
  Click image for more detail

Last month we explained how to use your Computer and Printer to add greetings and text to your cards, did you know that you can also heat emboss the images and text that you've printed, follow our guide to get some fantastic embossed results:

First off some tips to make embossing a bit easier;

Try not to touch the area that you are going to be embossing, oils from your skin can get on to the surface making the embossing powder stick or hard to remove.

Before you stamp a surface, wipe with a used fabric softener sheet, this discharges the static and helps prevent the powder sticking in places you don't want, you can also buy antistatic pads especially design for this purpose or even make your own, buy some fullers earth from the chemist, put it in a small fabric bag (or a sock!) that's it, antistatic pad.

To emboss using your Ink jet printer, you'll need a coated card as this will stop the ink drying or being absorbed, You'll also need to work fast!

Print your design onto the card blank, now quickly sprinkle over your embossing powder, now that's done you can relax a little!

Embossing powder tends to cling to coated card more so than normal so take your time to remove any excess, tap the back of the card to remove the majority of the powder, then use a small paint brush to get rid of any stubborn bits.

Now heat the powder in the normal way using a heat gun, coated card tends to warp more than normal card but don't worry too much as you can either place the card under a book overnight or simply bend it back into shape, that's all there is to it!

Brighten up those peel off stickers

Note. Before working on the card be sure to print your greeting via the printer.

Peel off stickers have been around for the longest time but now it seems the designs are getting funkier Francoise Reed collection is certainly very exciting and we found a surprisingly effective way of using them which takes hardly any time at all.
Our customers have loved them here at base, so much so that they all sold out in a matter of days, We'll be adding several of the designs to the Web site later this month, however if you place an order with a value of over £20 you'll get the design we've used here free!

Here we've used one of the Francoise peel off collection, stuck it straight onto the card mount and simply coloured it with Pastel pencils

This design is from the same peel off sheet, only this time we've used Tulip pearl paint to add colour, before the paint dries sprinkle with iridescent glitter, this adds a bit of sparkle, tap off the excess and cut the card to size using decorative scissors, then mount on pastel violet board using double sided adhesive pads.

Again from the same peel off, apply the sticker and use the same process as above, only adding some dots using the tulip paint.
