About Plasma
Plasma board is made from polypropylene, It's extremely
durable and is normally used for Ring binders, Stationery
or decorative packaging.
Plasma is normally very thick 700 mics in all colours, only
clear can be purchased in 350 mic, which means plasma at
700 mic is not suitable for punching or die cutting on a
Sizzix machine.
It is of no use at all as a card blank as even when scored
it will not close properly, there are also problems as to
what products will stick to it or not!
So
what can you do with it?
It
is fabulous as a backing board, however I would recommend
cutting on a guillotine or paper trimmer for neat straight
edges.
How
to stick plasma!
If
you are sticking plasma to a normal card blank you can use
Fast tack glue, most card blanks have a porous surface and
will absorb the water which will speed the curing process,
drying on a coated card may take longer, fast tack is OK
as long as you can't see the glued area!
The
best way I've found to fix Plasma so far is to use Glue
dots, however the tricky part is hiding them and not being
able to see them though the plasma, to achieve this we need
to hide the dots by placing them under an embellishment.
Plan ahead.
Make a mock up of your design first, by doing so you will
then be able to estimate where to place the glue dots under
your design so they can't be seen on the finished card.

Peel offs work really well on plasma and make an effective
design all by themselves.
Tulip
paint looks great and can be used to paint images or to
add colour and decoration.
Another good effect is to add glitter, using a spray adhesive,
spray the Plasma with glue then sprinkle with glitter, shake
off the excess and you're left with a really unique and
unusual mount.
Note. because Plasma is non-absorbant glues and paints
(especially water based) may take longer to dry than normal.
